Frequently Asked Questions

An electric bicycle also known as an e-bike is a bicycle with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion. Many kinds of e-bikes are available worldwide, from e-bikes that only have a small motor to assist the rider’s pedal-power to more powerful e-bikes which are closer to moped-style functionality.

Riders must be 14 years or older to operate an electric bike.  An adult or guardian must accompany riders under 18.

Although riding an electric bike is relatively easy, a minimum of 80 pounds is recommended. Also, riders should have the ability to ride a manual bicycle without assistance. Those with physical impairments should use caution as an electric bike is not meant for everyone and can be dangerous if not ridden appropriately. Maximum weight is 275 lbs.

All MBEB e-bikes stop providing electric assist while pedaling and/or using full throttle at 20 mph.

All customers are required to take a hands-on training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Riders are trained on operation and safety aspects of the electric bike. All riders are provided and required to wear a safety helmet or you can bring your own.

When you take a tour with a bike tour operator you are receiving a quick tutorial of the operation and safety aspects of an electric bike. In addition, your tour guide will provide a fun ride that will give you many opportunities to explore not only the capabilities of an electric bike but also an experience you have never had before if you have never ridden an electric bike.

We also have hand-selected restaurants that will accommodate (and what you should taste while you’re here), hotels and activities that most tourists don’t even know are available. And, when you do visit a popular attraction, they know when and how to avoid the crowds. Most importantly, the service is a tour operator’s top priority and they have figured out how to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. One of the tools at their disposal is the seasoned guides who can connect you to the local culture through their inside knowledge of the area.

Tour may be cancelled due to severe weather. Tours can be conducted in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but MBEB may cancel the tours up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If MBEB cancels the tour, customers will be allowed to reschedule, subject to availability of desired tour, or receive credit for a future tour. MBEB will make every effort to accommodate all customers.
